Welcome to Seaview

We have been enjoying the Outer Banks for several years, which led to us buying our own home here in South Nags Head. The area has so much to offer: the Bodie Island Lighthouse, Nags Head Woods, Fort Raleigh and the Lost Colony, the Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey’s Ridge, and of course, the beach. It is a great place to vacation.

The restaurants generally do not accept reservations and the wait can be quite long, so plan accordingly. Our favorite for years has been Sam and Omie’s, right up the road at Whalebone Junction in Nags Head, because of its great informal atmosphere. The Colington Café in Kill Devil Hills is also wonderful if you want to splurge a little.

If you’d rather avoid the crowds and eat at home, buy some seafood at Whalebone Seafood Market (441-8808) at Whalebone Junction or the Sugar Shack Fish Market (441-3888) along the Nags Head-Manteo Causeway. The best time to buy is in the afternoon after they get the day’s catch.

We have owned this wonderful home for a few years now and try to make improvements each year to make it more comfortable for all. Over the past few years we have replaced the cedar shakes and added a mid-level deck with hot tub. Inside, we replaced the linoleum floor and recovered much of the furniture. Just this year, we renovated both full bathrooms on the first level and replaced the beds. We welcome your comments and suggestions; you will find our guest book near the phone in the great room.

We hope you enjoy the Outer Banks as much as we do, and will come back in future years.
