Kitchen Renovation!

The kitchen renovation is underway! It took some time to get the permits and do all the prep work, but things are moving along. Instead of destroying and throwing out the old cabinets and appliances, we donated them to the Mission Thrift (they are located on Hwy 158 in Nags Head and have a Facebook page.

I’ve included a photo of what the kitchen looks like now – no cabinets, no countertop, no nothing, but over the next few weeks that should change dramatically. The cabinets are being installed now, then the countertops, backsplash, and appliances. We are also improving the lighting on the top floor by getting rid of our 1970s-style lights and adding much more lighting to the kitchen area. We hoping to have our house put back together, with a functioning, newly renovated kitchen in about a month if all things go smoothly.
